Prohibited Items
A. Items our system declines automatically
We detect these automatically at the quote stage and cannot accept them.
- Auction-style listings (such as Mercari auctions)
- Digital products (e-books and Kindle, downloadable software, online codes, Prime Video, digital music, apps, Audible, and other items that cannot be handed over in person)
- Gift cards (because they are easily converted to cash and prone to misuse)
Note: For items that are sold out, or whose information we could not read from the product page, we either cannot provide a quote or switch to manual entry and staff review (this is separate from prohibited items).
B. Items we do not accept due to laws or store terms
As a rule, we cannot accept the following items because of laws or the terms of the stores we buy from. (These cannot be detected automatically from product pages, so our staff may review and decline them.)
- Hazardous materials, explosives, firearms, swords, and other items whose possession or transfer is restricted by law
- Counterfeit or imitation brand goods, and items that infringe intellectual property rights
- Pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and other items that require a license or qualification to sell or transfer
- Alcohol and tobacco (items that require a license to sell)
- Living things (animals and plants), food, and other items that are difficult for us to store safely or hygienically
- Resale tickets (including those covered by Japan's Act on Prohibition of Unauthorized Resale of Tickets)
- Cash, vouchers, securities, and other items easily converted to cash
- Items whose purchase or proxy purchase is prohibited by a store's terms, or requests that may violate purchase quantity limits, bans on buying for resale, or similar rules
- Any other items we determine to be unsuitable
C. For reference: items we accept after review (not prohibited)
We can handle the following items, but our staff will review shipping, condition, or how the item will be handed over.
- Used items (because condition varies)
- Items sold by sellers other than the store itself (third-party sellers)
- Items whose listed delivery fee exceeds our standard fee
- Sets that include a physical item and a download code (we hand over the code on paper at pickup; codes for Japan may not work with accounts outside Japan, and we cannot give refunds because a code cannot be used)
